DC Resistance Moisture Meters (Pin Meters)

Finna Sensors’ meters, including the DC-2000-BP and DC-2011, use the conductivity principle: two needle-type probes are inserted into the product, and current flow between them is measured.

Pinless Moisture Meters

Other Finna Sensors portable meters use the principle of capacitance (dielectric or power loss) measurement. We offer a variety of pinless moisture meters, including:

While the capacitor is in different locations depending on the model, the principle works similarly on all these moisture meters. Since water has a dielectric constant considerably higher than any other material, even a small amount of water in a product will cause the combination dielectric constant to increase substantially. Finna Sensors meters can easily recognize this increase in water content and are programmed to display the result in direct reading percent moisture content, making that information immediately available and actionable for you and your team.

The Model AM-III delivers an immediate, accurate measurement used to identify damaging moisture shifts before it causes loss of product.

The Model AM-III is a handheld paper microcontroller-based moisture meter that permits instantaneous, nondestructive measurement on all types of paper and paperboard. Immediate, accurate moisture readings are obtained on moving or stationary rolls, stacks, or reams. Finna Sensors’ engineers have decades of experience with measuring paper moisture and have built a rugged, portable instrument which truly excels in measurement accuracy.

Originally marketed under the Moisture Register brand, the Model AM-III has been sold to more than 1,500 users. A key advantage of this product is a library of frequency and operating modes used to minimize the influence of pH and temperature.
